Project Summary

Description
Swimming pool De Zwoer realised a 750 m solar thermal energy system with covered single glazed collectors for pool as well as shower heating. The system has been built in 1990 and has been functioning well since that date. The solar system heats the fresh cold make-up water that is supplied to the pool continuously during the day. That enables a small solar heat storage volume for the system of 2.7 m. The swimming pool management has always been keen on opportunities for energy saving and renewable energy. In addition to the solar system the pool uses a combined heat and power unit (CHP) and heat-recovery from pool waste water.
