Elderly house Sezana is permanently striving to increase life quality and living conditions for their residents. In this frame also anticipated renovation of building envelope and installation of a central solar thermal system for sanitary water heating can be placed. The size of the central solar thermal system is limited by the available finances. Solar collectors will be installed on roofs of two buildings with a tilt angle of 30° and orientations of –15°and –45°.
The solar system with flat plate collectors and thermal power of 49.3 kWth leads to 44 % of energy savings for sanitary water heating. In addition 9.5 tons of CO2-emissions will be avoided per year.
