Summary

In the framework of a local promotion campaign, the Province of Rome financed the realisation of building stock assessments, in order to chose suitable targets for solar thermal systems.
The kindergarten of Monteporzio Catone is identified as one of the interesting buildings, as long as the summer cooling load is also integrated by the solar thermal plant. This leads to a so called "solarcombyplus", which provides heat for DHW, space heating and cooling.
38 kWth of solar collectors would supply about 21 MWh energy, avoiding 6.5 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
