Project Summary
Description Social housing association WoonVeste realised a 96 m2 collective solar thermal system on the roof of one of their apartment buildings homes for elderly people. The realisation of this system fits in the associations’ mission regarding the environment. As part of these environmental policies Woonveste actively aims to reduce energy and water consumption and promotes the use of renewable energy systems in it’s building stock. Some of the senior tenants were initially rather skeptical about the system as they had to pay more rent. Since the system is running and energy costs have lowered with twice the extra rent they have to pay, all tenants are satisfied with the system. For the realisation Woonveste was supported by the project Space for Solar providing feasibility studies, an interesting turn-key offer based on a call for tender and an investment subsidy.
